Our house is full! Three kids, homeschool days that rarely go as planned, two dogs, a flock of chickens, a gaggle of ducks, and somewhere in the middle of all that beautiful chaos... a garden that quietly became my anchor.
It started small, the way most good things do. I wanted to grow flowers I couldn't find anywhere else, not the same handful of varieties lined up on a big box store shelf, but the kind with character, with color you have to see in person to believe. So I planted four dahlia tubers, some perennials, and a handful of seeds just to see what would happen.
I did not expect to fall completely in love.
Four dahlias turned into thirty. Thirty turned into a hundred. Now I grow more than 350 dahlias, along with a whole world of cut flowers and seeds I've come to treasure, because once you understand what these plants are capable of for your heart, there's no going back to ordinary.
Somewhere in the growing, I found something I didn't know I was looking for. When life feels loud and messy and like too much all at once, my garden has never asked me to have it all together. It just asks me to show up, put my hands in the soil, and trust the process. And every single time, it hands something beautiful back. It has taught me patience, that tomorrow is another day, and that mistakes, learning and growth never stop.
Briar Patch Picker grew out of that love. Fresh cut florals and curated seed kits featuring varieties you simply won't find anywhere else nearby. My hope is that when you bring them home, you feel a little bit of that same wonder I felt watching four tubers become hundreds of blooms.
